Pinstripers To Bring Color To 2012 World Of Wheels And Benefit The Diabetes Youth Foundation Of Indy

INDY – Jan. 17 2012 – The 10th Annual Pinstriper Panel Jam & Charity Auction will take center stage during the 53rd annual O’Reilly Auto Parts World of Wheels, presented by Ray Skillman at the Indiana State Fairgrounds from Friday, Feb. 10, through Sunday, Feb. 12. Renowned pinstripers will amaze the crowd with their skills and talents as they create works of art for charity.
Items up for auction include tool boxes, purses, panels, toilet seats, mail boxes and many other unique items. Each day prior to the auctions, stripers will be on hand to “decorate” personal items, like cellphones and purses from visitors for a donations. All proceeds from the auction will benefit the Diabetes Youth Foundation of Indiana.
“With all the exciting events taking place during the show, the Pinstriper Panel Jam & Charity Auction is sure to be among the favorites for all ages,” said Bob Larivee Jr., CEO of Championship Auto Show Inc. “While pinstriping is an unfamiliar art form to some, those who master it can transform any vehicle or motorcycle. This addition to the 2012 show will demonstrate unique talents and take entertainment to a whole new level, all while supporting a great cause.”
Auctions will take place on Friday at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at 2 p.m., 4 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. as well as on Sunday at 3 p.m. Items scheduled to be auctioned include bowling pins, art panels and other unique items.
The Diabetes Youth Foundation of Indiana (DYFI) was formed in 1989 to support, educate and encourage children and teens with Type 1 diabetes. The not-for-profit organization helps hundreds of children and teens every year through a summer, residential camping program; family camp weekends; day camps for children ages 5-8 and through teen adventure trips and weekends.
In the fall of 2005, DYFI purchased a camp in Noblesville, Indiana. The camp, “Camp until a Cure” is the only camp in Indiana owned, designed and operated specifically for the needs of children and teens with Type 1 diabetes.
Visitors at the show will also experience America’s Top Hot Rods, Customs, Trucks and bikes, Artist Alley, Drag City USA featuring cars from Lucas Oil Raceway, the Custom Motorcycle Show presented by Indianapolis Harley-Davidson, as well as a meet-and-greet with celebrities.
